Topic Overview:
The revised EEO-1 form proposed by agency will require employers to report wage information from box 1 of the W-2 form and total hours worked for all employees by race, ethnicity and sex within 12 proposed pay bands. While the matter is still a subject of the legal dispute, the EEOC recently told a federal judge that it plans to require employers to turn over pay data, by Sept. 30, 2019 for previous year. The new EEO requirement is one of many actions that represent emerging trends of mitigating and restoring internal pay equity.
The speaker will discuss Internal Pay Equity audits and analysis in the multiple-incumbent job classifications to ensure the pay rates are assigned according to the established criteria, and that pay practices are in compliance with the existing legislation. Attendees will learn how to review incumbents' experience, merits, and other factors in comparison with their pay, and to eliminate inequities in pay between employees within the same jobs.
Related Legislation:
- 1963 Equal Pay Act
- 2009 Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act
- 1964 Title VII of Civil Rights Act
- Proposed Revision of the EEO 1 Report
Key Learning Points:
1. Understand emerging trends, environment and concepts of internal pay equity
2. The speaker will introduce techniques in identifying pay discrepancies, calculations of costs, and specific measures to eliminate inconsistencies in pay between workers.
3. Attendees will be given practical solutions of mitigating pay inequities and restoring equal pay for equal jobs.
