Times of dormant minimum wages in Arizona are long history. Provision of the Arizona Fair Wages and Healthy Family Act, A.R.S. 23-363, “The minimum wage shall be increased on January 1 of successive years, by the increase in the cost of living…”, changed the whole dynamics of minimum wage growth, creating predictable pattern and continuous wage increases.
This added a responsibility for HR departments to monitor and manage pay compressions and mitigate inequities in wages. This workshop will focus on conceptual framework, statistical techniques, and implementation process of addressing pay compression and pay inequities caused by annual increases in AZ minimum wage.
Key Learning Points
1. In this session attendees will learn some key statistics, economic indicators, and minimum wage legislation affecting HR practices, inequities in pay, and wage compressions in organizations.
2. Attendees will examine compensation practices that address and mitigate pay compression and pay inequities.
3. Attendees will be given practical solutions (guidelines and templates) for annual pay structure calibration and pay adjustments.
