This presentation covers: basic principles of the FMLA; family members that are included in ‘family leave’ protections; qualifying reasons for taking FMLA leave; issues that arise around the taking of FMLA leave, including calculating the amount taken and interaction with other laws; administrative actions employers should take to comply with the FMLA; rights that an eligible employee has as a result of FMLA protections, and sources for more information. The PAID program will also be discussed with how it is applied in the FMLA scope of this self-audit tool.
